We are pleased to inform you that NRL is planning to conduct pooled campus selection for hiring of engineers in the discipline of Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. It is proposed to conduct the pooled campus interview in Jorhat Engineering College Campus as per following detail:
1. Date of Campus Interview: (i) Written Test on 25/02/19 and (ii) Personal Interview on 26/02/19
2. Venue: Jorhat Engineering College, Jorhat
3. its a pooled campus drive to be held at JEC
4. Batches to cover: The campus interview shall cover the following two batches
a. The B.E/ B.Tech final year batch(2019 batch) presently studying in the college
b. The immediate previous pass out batch of 2018
5. Eligibility criteria:
• Age limit :
Upper age limit shall be 30 years as on 01-02-2019 for all positions. The upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST candidates, 03 years for OBC (NCL) candidates against reserved vacancies. It is also relaxable by 10 years for PwD-General, 13 years for PwD-OBC(NCL) and 15 years for PwD-SC/ST candidates.
• Minimum Percentage of marks:
Minimum cumulative 65% marks upto the last pass out Semester for which result has been declared without having any backlog paper. Institutes/ Universities which give CGPA are advised to bring the conversion table from CGPA to percentage.
6. Select ion Methodology: The selection process shall consists of the following steps :
• The top 10 available students of each branch, of each batch and of each college/university shall only participate in the campus interview. [Among the students who are applying filling up the google form bellow]
• The candidate should not have any backlog at the time of campus interview.
• The selection will be done in two stages and each stage will be independent of the other.
Stage I : For each branch, separate objective type written test will be conducted among the students combining all the colleges. The question paper shall contain 50 MCQ each of 1 mark of total duration 1 hour having following break-up:
Knowledge of English language- 20
GK/ Current Affairs-15
There will not be any negative marking for wrong answer. The Stage-I written test will only be a circuit breaker. No merit list or rating will be given at this stage. All those who break the circuit will be called for interview in Stage-II.
Stage-II : The Stage-II will consists of personal interview of the candidates selected from Stage-I. Candidates in the ratio of 1:4 shall be called for Personal Interview. All the candidates coming from Stage-I shall be at par in the beginning of Stage-II. Merit list shall be in order of marks obtained by the candidates in Stage-II interview only.
• The candidates selected through campus placements, will be issued provisional appointment letters, and, will be required to clear the pre-employment medical examination prior to joining.
• While candidates selected from Pass Out batch will join immediately, the candidates selected from the final year batch will be required to join immediately after the final semester examinations are over (sometime in May/June) even if their results are not declared by that time.
• The final appointment and continuance will however, be subject to the candidates passing the Final Degree examination in the first attempt itself with 65% marks and above (or equivalent CGPA and above).

About TP Cell: The Training & Placement Cell, Jorhat Engineering College, Assam, facilitates the process of campus placement of final year students besides arranging internship and training. The cell communicates with the Industry and Institutes of National Importance to facilitate at least three internship to every Engineering student during four years of study . Organizations like ONGC, ASEB, IOCL, OIL, NEEPCO, Indian Railway, NRL, BRPL, BCPL, BSNL, HCL, IBM, BVCL, PWD (Assam), ASTC, Airport Authority of India etc are helping our students to undergo industry exposure through summer/winter internship. Since its inception in the years 1960, reputed industries in this part of the country have been working together with JEC to up lift the society. The Training and Placement Cell also enjoys support from Institutes like NEIST, IIT etc. to provide laboratory and research exposure through internship.
The Training and Placement Cell also guides the final year students in securing jobs by organizing campus interviews and exploring various avenues for their placement. The cell extends all possible help and provides all available infrastructure facilities to the organisations and their respective officials conducting campus interviews in the college campus.

Candidates who have passed with physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the 2nd year (10+2) Higher Secondary (Science) Examination conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council or an examination recognised as equivalent by the Dibrugarh University, and have secured the minimum marks required to pass in each of the above mentioned subjects, and also .have secured at least 50% marks in the aggregate of these subjects in a single sitting, are eligible for admission to the First Semester of the 4 Year Degree Course in Engineering.
Selection for admission is through Admission Test in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics conducted at the Assam State Level by an appropriate authority. The merit ranking in the Admission Test is the basis for admission into the course. Admission of candidates belonging to the reserved categories is on the basis of their merit rank in the respective categories in the Admission Test.
