OVERVIEW
FotoKraft – the JEC Photography Club, is an amateur photographers club started by a group of students of Jorhat Engineering College in the year 2012 on the 18th of April. The Club aims at promoting the interest of students in the feld of photography. It also acts as the Photo-Journalist of JEC and does the pictorial documentation of each college event. FotoKraft is responsible for documenting each and every activity in the college premises, be it formal functions organized by the administration or informal activities that include student participation.
By far it has been the most active Club of Jorhat Engineering College as it happens to be an inexplicable part of the socio-cultural structure of the college by itself. The administration of JEC and Student Union of the college JECSU has always entrusted the responsibility of “Photography” and “Videography” to this Club and the Club itself has tried to meet the expectations with sincerity and utmost dedication over the years. FotoKraft is always willing to improve itself and garner skills for the better of the college and its counterparts.
Besides that the other activities of the clubs include photo-shootouts, holding photography-workshops,competitions, seminars and photo exhibitions. The club has its own photo gallery in the college premises which displays the immense talent of its members. Along with that, FotoKraft works in tandem with other Clubs of JEC to provide the best means possible of representation of the college for the greater good.

TECHNOVUS
On the occasion of TECNOVUS 2019, the technical fest of JEC, a workshop was conducted by ARPAN KALITA, an eminent Photographer of Northeast India.
A 2-min film making competition is organized on the occasion of the tech fest of JEC, “Technovus” to encourage the creativity of story telling and videography enthusiasts of JEC.
With a quite impressive participation and lots of entries following three participants are selected as a winner :

FOTOKRAFT – The Photography club of Jorhat Engineering College is one of the most active clubs of JEC which encourages the creative talents of the college as well as it gives a platform to those who have interest in different areas like photography, videography, cinematography. The club is responsible for covering all college events that are organized on campus. It is the only club which acts as the Photo-Journalist of JEC and does the pictorial documentation of each college event. After a 2 year long halt due to pandemic the mega event of JEC, PHOENIX 2022 was organized with a lot of hard work, laughter, arguments, fun and the idea of RENAISSANCE was brought up by the JECIANS. The FOTOKRAFT family plays an immense role in capturing all the moments throughout the events .

HAR GHAR TIRANGA
Jorhat Engineering College soulfully participated in the “Har Ghar Tiranga”, a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home am=nd to hoist it to mark the 75th year of independence. Students along with staff members and authorities initiated a cultural program too showing petritism . Here are some captures of that moment by the FOTOKRAFT team:
EVENTS ORGANIZED IN COLLABORATION
Obiettivo, the photography club of NIT, Silchar had collaborated with FOTOKRAFT along with the photography clubs of prestigious colleges like Flashpoint (Assam Engineering College), Tezpur University Photography Club, Photography and Fine Arts Club (NIT Meghalaya) for a grand photography weekend.
In this collaboration we had the talented photographer Arpan Kalita with us this time. Mr Arpan Kalita hails from Assam and is an expert in landscape and travel photography. He is involved with Wildlife and Community conservation and is working with organizations like Snow Leopard Conservancy India Trust and Metropolis. He is the co-founder of Muse N Memories, Happy Drifters, and Arpan Kalita Photography. On top of that, he is the Vice President, Exhibition Director, and a Certifed Trainer of the Photography Club of Assam and also a visiting faculty at NID. It was a marvelous opportunity for enthusiastic young photographers to learn from this renowned photographer.
