- A research paper titled “Experimental studies on Load settlement behaviour of cohesionless soil using Bamboo Grid” authored by Dr. N. M. Chetia and B. Das was published in Springer Journal “Ground Characterization and Foundations” in the month of June 2022.

Gogoi and Dr. Arup Bhattacharjee has got published in Springer Journal “Earthquakes Geotechnics, Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering” in the month of June 2022.

Barthakur has got published in Springer Journal “Theory and Practice in Earthquake Engineering and Technology, Springer Tracts in Civil Engineering” in the month of June 2022.
- A research paper titled “Stability Analysis of Riverbank Erosion” authored by Mrs. Snigdha Kalita and Dr. P.K.Khaund has been published in the book series “Advances in Sustainability Science and Technology”, by Springer .
- A research paper titled “Parameter Sensitivity by Watershed Model of Bhogdoi, a Tributary of the Brahmaputra River” authored by Monisha Dutta, Dr. Pulendra Dutta and Dr. Mrinal Kumar Dutta has been published in the book series “Advances in Sustainability Science and Technology”, by Springer.

- Mr. Pulendra Dutta, has successfully defended his PhD seminar on 11th January 2021 from IIT Guwahati. Civil Engineering Department congratulates him on this success and wishes the best for his future.
- A paper authored by Dr. Atanu Kr. Dutta titled “Role of Opening in Seismic Resistance if Infill Walls: A Critical Review of Indian Codal Provision” has been accepted and published in the proceedings of VCDRR for the conference “Civil Engineering for a Disaster Resilient Society”.
- A paper authored by Dr. Atanu Kr. Dutta titled “Flood-Proof-House: A Safe and Sustainable Approach to Conventional Housing Typology” has been accepted and published in the proceedings of VCDRR for the conference “Civil Engineering for a Disaster Resilient Society”.
- A paper authored by Dr. P.K. Khaund and Ms. S. Kaltia titled “Safety Analysis of Alluvial Riverbanks” has been accepted by the International Conference of HYDRO-2020 organized by NIT Rourkela on 26th to 28th March 2021.
- Dr. Atanu Kr. Dutta, Dr. Nayanmoni Chetia and Dr. Arup Bhattacharjee were promoted as professor by Govt. of Assam.
- Mr. Mrinaljyoti Adhyapok participated to the AICTE-sponsored five-day faculty development program on “Research Methodology” organized by NIT Monipur from 27th to 31st January 2021.
- Ms. Snigdha Kalita participated in the online International Webinar on “Geopolymer Concrete” on 09th April 2021 organized by Indian Concrete Institute (Chennai Centre).
- A conference paper titled “Pushover Analysis of RCC Building Including 3D Soil Structure Interaction” authored by Md. Halim Islam and Dr. Atanu Kr. Dutta was published by springer in the proceedings of the Indian Geotechnical Conference 2019. The paper was first published online on 6th May 2021.
- A conference paper titled “Numerical Model Study of Two-Tiered Reinforced Soil Retaining Wall Subjected to Dynamic Excitation” authored by Ms. Sudipta Sikha Saikia and Dr. Arup Bhattacharjee was published by springer in the proceedings of the Indian Geotechnical Conference 2019. The paper was first published online on 6th May 2021.

- A conference paper titled “Experimental Study on Load-Settlement Behaviour of Circular Pile Supported on Small Diameter Timber Piles Under Vertical Loading” authored by Mr. Hitesh Kumar and Dr. N.M. Chetia was published by springer in the proceedings of the Indian Geotechnical Conference 2019.

- Dr. Atanu Kr. Dutta and Mr. Mrinaljyoti Adhyapok attended the 7th International conference on “Recent Advances in Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering and Soil Dynamics” jointly organized by the Indian Society of Earthquake Technology, the Civil Engineering Department, IISC Bengaluru and the Department of Earthquake Engineering IIT Roorkee, Roorkee held online during 12th to 15th July, 2021.
- Mr. Baharul Hussain participated as a faculty resource member in the Workshop for Earthquake Resistant Design Practices for UG Students of Architecture held during August 07-14, 2021 at IIT Kanpur through online mode.
- Mr. C. Sarma, Mr. Pranjal Sarma, Mr. Nihir Boro, Mr Baharul Hussain, Ms. Prasanty Bora, Mr. Mrinal Adhyapak, Mrs. Joba Goswami and Mrs. Snigdha Kalita attended a lecture series by AICTE Chair Professor Dr. K. Raina on Bridge Engineering from 2nd September to 5th September 2011. Students from 5th and 7th semester of Civil Engineering Department also attended the series.
- All the faculty members of Civil Engineering Department of JEC attended a webinar on “The Importance of Accreditation in Technical Education System” on 7th September 2021. The resource person was Prof. K.K. Aggrawal, Chairperson, National Board of Accreditation, India. The webinar was hosted by the JEC Diamond Jubilee Celebration Committee as a technical webinar under the series of webinar hosted as a part of diamond jubilee celebration of JEC.
- A book chapter titled “Role of Openings in Seismic Resistance of Infill Walls: A Critical Review of Indian Codal Provision” authored by Dr. Atanu Kr. Dutta was included in a Springer published book “Recent Advances in Earthquake Engineering” in the month of October 2021.

- A research paper titled “Study of Traditional Tribal Houses of Assam” authored by Saurav Jyoti Dutta, a M.Tech student and Professor Nayanmoni Chetia has been awarded as 1st best paper on 4th International Conference on Smart Villages And Rural Development (COSVARD)-2021, held on 13th -14th December, 2021

- Tech Dissertation work, Guided by Dr. Atanu Kr. Dutta on “Disregarding the Effect of Openings in Infill Walls in Indian Seismic Code: A Scrutiny”, the abstract is accepted for Structural Engineering Convention, 2020.

Dutta, Prasanty Borah, Baharul Hussain and Dr. Arup Bhattacharjee have actively participated in one-week Short Term Training Program on “Green Building, Energy Efficiency and Energy policy for sustainable future” during 8th June to 13th 2020. Jointly organized by department of energy engineering, ASTU, Guwahati and Department of Electrical Engineering, Girijananda Chowdhary Institute of Management Technology, Guwahati. The program was organized under C.R.S. of ASTU-the R&D Project Scheme under TEQIP-III, MHRD, G.O.I.

- A research proposal entitled, “Development of sustainable materials for concrete repairing and strengthening” has been accepted under “TEQIP Collaborative Research Scheme” with a total grant of Rs. 7,50,000.00. Dr. Sulaem M. Laskar is the Principal Investigator of the research project with Dr. Atanu Kr. Dutta, Mr. Baharul Hussain and Mr. Koushik Kalita acting as Co-PI for the same.
- Prasanna Kr. Khaund attended executive council meeting of ASTU on 27th September 2019, on behalf of Principal, Jorhat Engineering College.
- Koushik Kalita acting as Co-PI on a research project entitled “Methodology for prioritization of secondary road network sections for planning of maintenance works” under TEQIP-III Collaborative Research Scheme.

- S.M. Laskar has been conferred the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering by IIT Guwahati on 12th June 2019.

- Atanu Kr. Dutta was invited for research proposal presentation at AICTE, New Delhi on “Seismic Vulnerability of Traditional Stilted Houses in Flood Planes of Assam” and presented the same on 28th February 2019.
- Atanu Kr. Dutta acted as a reviewer for ICAST, 2018 NIT Silchar.
- Atanu Kr. Dutta attended National Advisory Committee meeting of NICEE (National Information Centre for Earthquake Engineering), IITK on 6th March 2019. The committee reviewed the progress of NICEE during 2017-18.
- P.K. Khaund and Dr. Arup Bhattacharjee attended B.O.S meeting of ASTU on 6th March 2019, for finalizing U.G and P.G course structure of Civil Engineering.
- Nayanmoni Chetia was the resource person in FDP organized by EDII, Centre of excellence in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, under aegis and guidance of DST at Kaziranga University on 26th March 2019.
- Sulaem Musaddiq Laskar has defended his Ph.D. thesis on “Development of Ultra-Fine Slag Based Geopolymer Mortar and Concrete for Repairing and Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete Beams” on 28th March 2019. He is a Ph.D. student at IIT Guwahati.
