- Abhay Kumar Prasad, Mr. Rajdeep Paul, Mr. Shikhar Hazarika, Mr. Sonse Timing, Mr. Arunabh Dihingia, Mr. Gitatha Kalita and Mr. Nayan Das of Civil Engineering Department has cleared GATE 2023 successfully.
- Jhanvi Mazumder, 4th semester student of CED, participated in the 38th Senior National Taekwondo Championship held during 10th – 12th February 2023 at Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, India. She also participated in All India Inter SAI Taekwondo Championship held during 24th to 16th February 2023 at Delhi, India.
- Abhay Kumar Prasad of CED participated in the “Yuva Sangam” youth exchange program, an initiative by the Govt. of India under the aegis of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” held at Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar from February 24th to March 2nd, 2023.
- Shatabdi Hazarika of CED won the 2nd Best Debater award in “Sangram” an intra college debate competition organized on 22nd March 2023, at Training and Placement Cell of JEC.
- Chayanika Borah of CED won the 3rd Best Debater award in “Sangram” an intra college debate competition organized on 22nd March 2023, at Training and Placement Cell of JEC.
- Abhash Moran, 6th semester student of CED, participated and won the 2nd prize in the All Assam Amateur Muay Thai Championship held during 23rd March to 25th March 2023 at ADP College, Nagaon.
- Subham Borkotoky of CED won the 2nd prize in the competition “TV-ME quiz Competition” held during Phoenix 2023 held on 31st March 2023.
- Jintiraj Talukdar, Mr. Rishav Sinha and Mr. Abhay Kumar Prasad won Rupees Ten Thousand as a scholarship award in the 1st Category for participating in the Inter-Institutional Road Design Competition conducted by Centre for Environment Education, North-eastern Regional Cell under Safer Roads for Safety Childhood an initiative under Bontar Child Road Safety Challenge Managed by Global Road Safety Partnership.
- Jhanvi Mazumder (2nd Semester, CED) has participated in the “5th Kamrup (Metro) District Taekwondo Championship Kyorugi & Poomsae” held at DTRP Indoor Stadium, R.G. Baruah Sports Complex, Guwahati; organized by Kamrup (Metro) District Taekwondo Association during 4th, 5th, and 6th January 2022. Ms. Mazumder has secured Gold Medal, in the under 73Kg (Kyorugi) female category.
- Nitish Sarma (4th Semester, CED) has Participated in Combined Annual Training Camp 2022 from 24 March 2022 to 31 March 2022 as an NCC Cadet of 51 Assam Air Tech Sqn NCC organized by 74 Assam Girls BN NCC/NCC GP HQ Jorhat/ NER Directorate.
- Jhanvi Mazumder (2nd Semester, CED) has participated in the “2nd Guwahati Open Taekwondo Championship 2022 (Kyorugi)” held at DTRP Indoor Stadium, R.G. Baruah Sports Complex, Guwahati; organised by Kamrup (Metro) District Taekwondo Association during 30th April & 1st May 2022. Ms. Mazumder has secured Gold Medal, in the under 73Kg, Female Category.
- Jhanvi Mazumder (2nd Semester, CED) has participated in the “2nd Central Zone Taekwondo Championship 2022, Pathsala” organized by Bajali District Taekwondo Association, held at Bhagawati Khatra, Pathsala, Bajali, Assam, during 6th to 8th May 2022. Ms. Mazumder has secured Gold Medal, in the under 73Kg, female category.
- Bhaswati Dutta (4th semester, CED) has been awarded 2nd Prize in the event Scriptura (English) organised under the Literary Bout on 15th May 2022, during Phoenix, 2022.
- Moupran Hazarika (4th Semester, CED) has secured 1st position in the event Déjà Vu Competition held during Phoenix22.
- Jayasmita Boruah (2nd Semester, CED) has secured 2nd prize in Carrom (Single Girls) Competition held during Annual College Festival, JEC, in May 2022.
- Shyamal Kishore Tamuli (6th Semester, CED) has secured 1st position in the Powerlifting Competition (0-60 Kg) and Arm-wrestling (0-60 Kg) Competition, organized during Annual College Festival, JEC, in May 2022.
- Zuneda Chayema Barik (2nd Semester, CED) has secured 1st position in the Chess Competition, organized during Annual College Festival, JEC, in May 2022.
- Rahul Das, 5th semester student CED participated in TECHNOXIAN: World Robotics Championship held in Indra Gandhi Stadium Complex, New Delhi. Mr. Das won the 1st prize in RC Craft Category of Technoxian 2022.
- Shatabdi Hazarika (3rd Semester) and Mr. Ritwick Parasar (5th Semester) of Civil Engineering Department, JEC has participated and awarded the Third Best Team award in the 39th K.C. Kakati Memorial All Assam Inter College Debating Competition organized by J.B. College Student Union and J.B. College Teacher’s Union on 29th September 2022.
- Jhanvi Mazumder (3rd Semester, CED) has participated in the “3rd Mt. Everest International Open Taekwondo Championships- WT G2”, held in Pokhara, Nepal from 23rd to 25th September 2022. Ms. Mazumder has secured 4th position in this competition. Ms. Mazumder has secured World Ranking 1673.
- Jhanvi Mazumder (3rd Semester, CED) has participated in the “37th All Assam State Taekwondo Championship 2022” organized by Dibrugarh District Taekwondo Association, during 17th to 20th August 2022. Ms. Mazumder has secured Gold Medal, in under 73Kg, Senior Female Category.
- Nitish Sarma (5th Semester, CED) has Participated in the Abhiruchi Quiz Competition and secured 2nd Prize. The Quiz Competition was organized by Cotton University, on Abhiruchi Sports Day on 3rd September 2022.
- Jhanvi Mazumder (3rd Semester, CED) has participated in the “India Taekwondo Champion of Champions 2022” held from 27th to 30th August 2022 under 73 Kg, Female category. Ms. Mazumder secured Gold Medal for the East India Region.
- Nitish Sarma grabs the 2nd prize representing Jorhat Engineering College, in the Jorhat District Level Inter College Quiz Competition organized by Debate Forum of NN Saikia College, Titabor on 21st October 2022.
- Subham Borkotoky won the 1st prize in the “Game Gear Gaming Competition (CODM)” organized during Aventine 5.0 on 26th and 27th November 2022 held at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat.
- Lakshmishree Saikia, student of 6th semester got 1st prize in District Level Dance Competition organized by Manikanchan Self Help Group on Shilpi Divas on 17th & 18th January, 2021.
- Shreya Tamuli, Ms. Titiksha Handique, Mr. Saagar Haobam and Mr. Syed Ikbal Hushin got placed in Vedanta Resources Ltd during campus placement drive.
- 8th semester student, Mr. Mahmud Hussain Laskar has got placement offer from Byju’s, The Learning App.
- Nipjyoti Boruah of 6th semester has done two online courses from Great Learning Academy which is an AICTE approved institution. (i) Data science (ii) Smart English Basics for Professional. He has also participated in a quiz competition held on International Day of Yoga 21 June 2021, organized by Ministry of AYUSH.
- Shreemallika Baruah, 8th semester student got Overseas Internship Scholarship Program 2020-21 from Director of Technical Education, Govt. of Assam. She did internship at Saint Petersburg State University, Russia from 4th August to 10th September 2021 under the guidance of Prof. Anton S. Loschachenko. Her topic was “Microstructural Analysis of Nickel and Titanium Based Alloy Using Digital Image Processing Techniques”.
- Avishek Goswami, Mtech 4th semester student has participated in the short-term course on “Classical and Metaheuristic Optimization Methods of Engineering Planning and Design” organized by IIT Guwahati. He has also participated in the online course on “Geospatial Technology for Hydrological Modelling” organized by Department of space, ISRO and Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun.
- Angshuman Baruah, Mr. Arnab Baruah, Mr. Bikash Protim Borah, Mr. Kapil Saikia, Ms. Plavita Baruah, Mr. Pragyan Nath, Mr. Mahmud Hussain Laskar and Ms. Anamika Rajbongshi from Civil Engineering Department cleared GATE 2020.
- Kannyajyoti Chetia of Civil Engineering Department has got placed in the KEC International during a campus placement drive.
- Nipjyoti Boruah, student of civil engineering department has participated in a quiz competition held on International Yoga Day on 21st June 2021, organized by Ministry of Ayush.
- Syed Ikbal Hushin, Mr. Saagar Haobam, Ms. Titiksha Hanidque and Ms. Shreya Tamuli of Civil Engineering Department got placed in Vedanta Pvt. Ltd during campus placement drive.
- Kankana Sarma, 4th semester civil engineering student participated and secured 2nd position in an online speech contest organized by CGST on 9th August 2021. The topic of the speech competition was “Drug Abuse Among Youths and Its Impact on Nation Building”. She received the prize and certificate from Mr. S. Kannan, Chief Commissioner, IRC at GST Bhawan, Guwahati.
- Bitupan Dutta, student of 7th semester was awarded Best Bachelor of JEC 2021 during Rishikesh Borpuzari Memorial Award Ceremony, organized by Rishikesh Borpuzari Memorial Trust, on 9th October 2021 at Jorhat Engineering College.
- Lakshmishree Saikia, a 7th semester student won 3rd position in Intra College Dance Competition organized during Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Jorhat Engineering College on December, 2021.
- Nitish Sarma participated and won the 2nd (Second) Prize in the State Level Red Ribbon Quiz Competition organized by Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS) under National AIDS Control Organization, MoH &FW, Govt of India on 1st December, 2021
- Jahnvi Mazumdar, a 1st semester student secured GOLD MEDAL in All Assam Taekwondo Championship held on 27th-30thDecember, 2021.
- Anudit Das, a 5th semester student of Civil Engineering department, participated in “Short Film Making Competition” organized as a part of Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Jorhat Engineering College and succeeded to grab the 2nd position. The name of the short film was “PRAKASH” which was written, directed, and edited by Mr. Das himself. The short film is available on YouTube https://youtu.be/gFel4kJ4vqs.
- Suhashinee Bezbaruah, a 5th semester student of Civil Engineering department, was able to secure 1st position in Poem Writing, 2nd position in Intra College Debate Competition and Consolation prize in Inter College Debate Competition organized as a part of Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Jorhat Engineering College.
- B. Tech 4th semester student Nabiha Sabrin authored a poetry book titled “The Chaos and Solace of Life”. The book has been published by Bluerose Publishers on 2nd January 2020. Civil Engineering Department congratulate her on her achievement.
- B. Tech 4th semester students Nabiha sabrin, Bandana Kurmi and Kristina Chetia attended Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat Camp as an NCC Cadet organized at Rajib Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh from 6th January to 17th January 2020, conducted by NCC Tezpur Group.
- B. Tech 4th semester student Tanzeela Rahman attended Combine Annual Training Camp (CATC) as an NCC Cadet organized at Jorhat from 28th January to 6th February 2020.
- B. Tech 4th semester student Lakshmishree Saikia participated in a classical dance competition ‘NAVRAS’ during the annual cultural festival of IIT Guwahati ‘Alcharinga’ on 1st February 2020 and got selected in top 5 in the prelim round.
- Monmeet Singh (B.Tech 8th sem) and Moyurakshi Kakoti (B.Tech 8th sem) attended an Overseas Research Internship selected and sponsored by Government of Assam from 13th February to 18th March, 2020 in the University of LEEDS, Leeds, U.K. M. Singh has worked on “Optimization of Inter Modular Connections” and M. Kakoti has worked on “Brief Study on the Various Types of Inter Modular Connections in a Modular Prefabricated Building and Design of a Corner Edge Modular Interlocking System” under the guidance of Dr. Konstantinos Daniel Tsavdaridis.
- Shreemalika Baruah (6th sem) won the Best Debater and Best team prizes in All Assam Inter Institutional Debate Competition “Mantrana” held on February 15,2020 at Jorhat Engineering College. The topic was” “The personal data protection bill 2019 is dilute, deceitful and a direct attack to one’s privacy and hence is unconstitutional”
- Narzia Sultana Ahmed, Jahangir Alom, Bijon Bikash Borah, Jyotirmoy Talukdar, Madhhurjya Goswami, Nilnabh Sonowal under the guidance of Dr. M.K. Dutta and Mr. K. Kalita presented a poster titled “A Study on Status of Solid Waste Management in Jorhat Town” in the international conference ESTEC-2020 organized by CSIR Jorhat on 20th -22nd February 2020.
- Swapneel Sarma, Sharmina Aktara Begum, Ayushman Rabha, Denis L. Gangte, Suman Debnath and Queen Konwar under the guidance of Mr. Baharul Hussain and Dr. Nayanmoni Chetia presented a poster titled “Comparative Study of Mechanical properties of Concrete under Commercially Available Bacterial Products” and won the best poster presentation award, in the international conference ESTEC-2020 organized by CSIR Jorhat on 20th -22nd February 2020.
- Nihadri Deka, Sabina Yesmin, Musleha Yasmin Hussain, Rohit Baruah, Manmeet Singh and Phyobenthung Ezung under the guidance of Mr. Baharul Hussain and Prof. P.K. Khaund presented a poster titled “Comparative Vibrational Study of Different Steel Bridges” in the international conference ESTEC-2020 organized by CSIR Jorhat on 20th -22nd February 2020.
- Nayan Jyoti Dutta, Rahul Dutta, Aktar Hussain, Abhishek Kr. Laskar and Lalnghatlien Darngawn under the guidance of Dr. A.K. Dutta and Mrs. A. Bhatt presented a poster titled “Structural Modeling of Traditional Stilted House for Flood Plains in Assam” in the international conference ESTEC-2020 organized by CSIR Jorhat on 20th -22nd February 2020.
- Monmeet Singh, Kunal Kumar Das, Ayushman Rabha, Himangshu Daimary, Nokbe Teron and Arghyadeep Das of Civil Engineering Department has qualified the GATE 2020.
- Shivani Nath (B.Tech 6th sem), Titiksha Handique (B.Tech 6th sem), Snigdha Dihidar (B.Tech 6th sem) Kanyajyoti Chetia (6th sem) and Deepjyoti Bhuyan (B.Tech 4th sem) won the 1st prize winner in the chorus competition held during the college week 2020.
- Bishal Mishra, B.Tech 6th sem student won the 2nd prize in Javelin throw competition held during college week 2020.
- Sumon Das, B.Tech 2nd sem student won the 1st prize in Chessboard competition held during college week 2020.
- Parvez Musharaf, B.Tech 2nd sem student won the 3rd prize in 200m race and long jump competition held during college week 2020.
- Limo Sora, B.Tech 6th sem student won the 1st prize in 1600 m race and 2nd prize in Marathon held during college week 2020.
- Meghna Goswami, Mriganabh Bhargob Saikia and Arantara Choudhury of B.Tech 1st sem, secured 1st position in the internal techathon “Meity Tide 2.0” organized by Assam Startup Hub in collaboration with IIM Calcutta. The Event was held at Tezpur University.
Sadique Mohammad, B.Tech 4th sem student won the 1st prize in Powerlifting competition held during college week 2020. - Miss Tanzeela Rehman has participated in National Engineering Olympiad 3.0 with the N.E.O. Foundation heldfrom 24th to 28th April 2020.
- Miss. Shreemalika Baruah of 6th Semester grabbed the First Position in an online essay competition on “Possibilityof Employment of Daily Workers after COVID-19” Organized by ISTE Jorhat Engineering College May 2020. MissKasturi Krishna Klaita (4th sem) also participated in the competition and was awarded a motivational cash prize.
- Mr. Jacob Kashyap of 8th Semester has completed a project-based online course on “Structural & Foundation Analysis” on 23rd June, 2020.
- Mr. Debashish Talukdar of 4th Semester has completed an online certification program on “The Fundamentals of Digital Marketing” by Google on 21st June, 2020.

- Mr. Debasish Talukdar Participated in the survey, “Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices (K.A.P.) of Indian Towards COVID-19 an online survey’ during May 2020, conducted by Department of Biotechnology College of Biological and Chemical Engineering, Addis Ababa Science and Technology University Addis Ababa-16417, Ethiopia.

- Ms. Kasturi Krishna Kalita (4th sem) participated online Treasure Hunt Festival (OTHF) organized by Dare2Compete. She also participated in an online art competition organized by Anubhavor Dolisha, based on likes, comments, and shares on Facebook.
- Mr. Sanjit Das has participated online webinar organized by IGSSSC on the topic “Utilization of Different Support System to Prevent Slope Failure” and “Tunneling in the Himalayas” held during 22nd June and 27th June 2020 respectively.
- B.E 5th semester students namely Pradyumna Kalita, Plavita Baruah, Kanyajyoti Chetia, Abhishek Goswami, Kapil Saikia, Shreya Tamuli, Chandrima Sarma, Pragati Talukdar, Bhargab Saikia, Rohan Shome, Manab Jyoti Adhikary, Angshuman Baruah, Anupam Kumar Das, Arnab Baruah and B. Tech 3rd semester students namely Manash Pratim Kalita, Anurag Kashyap, Debashish Talukdar, Rishiraj Shandilya, Rajdeep Das, participated in Jorhat Household Survey data collection conducted by IIT Guwahati under the project entitled “Safer Road for Safer Childhood” funded by Global Road Safety Partnership.
- Shreya Simanta Sarmah won the 3rd prize in a 2-minute film making competition organized by FotoKraft, JEC on 2nd November 2019. She also won the online photography competition in the female section. Ms. Sarmah is also one of the coordinator and social media manager of “Pulpyshot”, a JEC based startup focuses on bringing fresh juice to the customers.
- B.E 5th semester students Ms. Lakshmishree Saikia and Ms. Shreya Simanta Sarmah of BE 3rd semester participated “PLANDEAVOUR” business plan competition conducted by the E-Cell in JEC in collaboration with Assam Start-Up Hub on 3rd November 2019 in Technovus 2019, JEC.
- Rahul Dutta of BE 7th semester won 2nd prize in the Film Making competition organized by FotoKraft JEC
- Manab Jyoti Adhikary of BE 5th semester got selected by NCC Air Squadron as a Co-pilot to fly the microlight plane “VIRUS SW-80”. Mr. Adhikary also participated as a member with the surveying team for Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) which is a project in collaboration with Red Cross and IIT Guwahati.
- Lakshmishree Saikia of BE 3rd semester participated in the “North-East Hackathon 2019” organized by ASTU. She also undergone an social internship under the an NGO (SEWA), completed six weeks summer training on “AutoCAD”, participated in “Escalate prelims” at Techniche 2019 , IIT Guwahati. She also attended two day Rubik’s Cube solving workshop and participated in the 1st Jorhat open Rubik’s Cube competition.

- Rahul Dutta of BE 6th semester won 2nd prize, on national level photography competition organized by FLYCATCHERS on 10th February 2019 under the theme Unseen Happiness. Rahul Dutta also won best actor award in the Monologue Competition organized during Phoenix 2019.
- Pradyumna Kalita, Abhishek Goswami and Manab Jyoti Adhikary of BE 4th semester were selected for Poster and Oral Presentation at Research Conclave-2019, IITG, on 14th-17th March 2019, under the guidance of Mr. Koushik Kalita.
- Maitry Phukan and Sagarika Gogoi of BE 6th semester won 2nd prize in RAZMATAAZ, state level group dance competition, Phoenix on 20th March 2019.
- Bishal Mishra of BE 4th semester won 3rd prize in 400 meter Race competition organized during college week, 2019.
- Sidhartha Singkai of BE 8th semester won 1st prize in boys 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1600 meter Race competition, 2nd prize in Long jump competition, 2nd prize in Discus Throw competition and 3rd prize in Javelin Throw competition organized during college week,2019. He also won the Best Athlete (Male) award in the same.
- Manasi Gohain of BE 8th semester won 2nd prize in Shot Puts (Female) competition organized during college week 2019.
- Sasanka Sarma of BE 4th semester won 3rd prize in Boys 100, 800 and 1600 meter Race competition, 2nd prize in Boys Shot Put competition organized during college week, 2019.

- Rahul Dutta of B.E. 6th semester won 3rd prize in the photography competition organized by JORHAT DISTRICT ASSOCIATION in September, 2018. He was also awarded 2nd prize in the photography competition organized by an online facebook page “Durga Puja Jorhat” in October, 2018. He was also awarded wining judges prize in the photography competion organized by “JAJABOR-THE TRAVELLER” based on the subject “India what i see”. His photographs were selected two times for “Photo of the month” and ” Photo of the day” organized by ASSAM PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB & JORHAT PHOTO CLUB.

- Gautam Das, Mousom Mrinmoy Kashyap and Niranjan Kowar of BE 8th semester presented a technical paper on “Flood Proof House: An Alternative approach to conventional Housing Technology”, in ICID 2018 held on 21st and 22nd December 2018
- B.E. 7th semester students Ms. Anindita Bhuyan and Mr. Pritam Bhattacharya got selected for Edupack Overseas internship program. Under this program they will be doing winter internship in overseas universities.
- B.E. 5th semester students Ms. Madhusmita Patir, Ms. Sringbili Charangsa, Ms. Sarmina Aktara Begum and Ms. Puja Hassan participated a 2 days workshop on Bridge Design at IIT Guwahati from 31st August to 1st September, 2018.
- Manab Jyoti Adhikari, B.E. 3rd semester student, got the 3rd best debater prize in VADVIVADA: Inter Hostel & Open Competition held on 12th September, 2018 at JEC. He also got the prize for 2nd best debate team (Hostel) in the same event.
- In 5th Jorhat Open All Assam State Swimming Championship 2018, Ms. Plavita Baruah, B.E 3rd semester student CED, got Gold medal in 50 meters Backstroke and 50 meters Freestyle, 100 meters Backstroke, 50 meters Butterfly and Silver medal in 50 meters Breaststroke style swimming event. She was also the best swimmer in the group (Open).
- In 5th Jorhat Open All Assam State Swimming Championship 2018, Mr. Bhargov Phukan, M.E 3rd semester student CED, won Gold medal in 50 meters Freestyle open (boys) swimming event.
- In Golaghat Open, Assam Swimming Championship 2018, Ms. Arunava Phukan, B.E 3rd semester student CED, got 2nd position in 100 meters Backstroke, 50 meters breaststroke and 3rd position in 100 meters freestyle swimming event.
- M.E. and 8th Semester B.E. students attended a One-day National Workshop on, Recent Developments in Civil and Earthquake Engineering, 2018 at CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat on 9th April, 2018.

- A plantation drive was organized by out-going B.E. students (batch 2014-18) of CED on 13th June, 2018 where faculties and students took active part and showed their concern towards the environment.
